I am gonna get back to stamping really soon, but I need to make the birth announcements first. I can't wait to show you how they turned out.

Baby Travis Is Here!!

I was due on December 22nd and scheduled for a c-section on the 15th, but the little guy had other plans. He was born at 9:03am on Sunday, December 5th. My water broke the night before at Babies R Us while making an exchange. What a way to end a night.....Bryan and I had just had a great dinner at Outback Steakhouse and we thought we'd bring home leftovers, but we brought home a baby instead. I never even went home after my water broke. What a night!
Here he is...Travis Jay Jensen:

My Downline...The Stamp-a-Doodles

I had a meeting today with 5 of my 10 downline....other demonstrators that signed up under me to sell Stampin' Up! It was a fun time of sharing business ideas, crafting ideas and, of course, stamping! I created 3 projects for them to make today....here is what we made:

The first project is a stationery box. We also made a flower out of our 5/8" Satin Ribbon. It was a new technique that was demonstrated at the SU! Convention this year. I wasn't there, but thanks to Sandy Hancock who attended, she shared how to make them.

This project is using the "baby wipe technique" on the flower stamp. If you are interested in finding how to do that technique contact me today...I'll show you how. :)

The last project is a milk carton die cut with a folded fan on the front. I used the Playground DSP on the box and for the fan. The box color is Pear Pizzaz.

Contact me if you are interested in learning any of these techniques or about any of the products I used to make these projects. :)

Halloween Workshop

Okay, I know I still have a couple hours until the last group arrives, but in case you are stopping in, I wanted to taunt you. I have 3 openings for the class tonight, in case you are interested.

The first project is a "Spooky" decor item. It has a lot of detail, but so fun and so cute.

The next project is a recycled toilet paper roll. Ahhh...the things we do to help the environment! Hee hee! Check out the detail with the embossed spider web!

The final project for the evening will be a cute little milk carton die cut. I am really liking this stamp set. Notice the stamps that say "To Open"....just like a regular milk carton. So cute!

If you'd like to come tonight or if you are interested in some of the supplies you see here, contact me at kjensen6330@yahoo.com

Happy Birthday Nichole

Happy Birthday to Nichole and to me, too! We share a birthday and we usually get to go out and have a girls day out, but this year I have other things that were keeping me from going out...baby boy #3! We did get to finally celebrate the next night at my house....we tried to watch a movie, but ended up talking for hours catching up on life. I got her a little gift and made her a gift bag and matching card. Here is the pair:

Here is a close up shot of the flower on the bag. I used the Flower Folds Die Cut.

Here is a picture of the card. I used the hand held large flower punch.

The designer paper is from last year's holiday mini catalog. I can't remember the name right now, but can you see the glittered flowers. I hope they come out with a similar paper for Valentine's Day again this year.

Spooky Sneak Peek

I told you that I would be posting a sneak peek of one of the projects that we'll be making at the Halloween Stamp Camp. Well....here it is:

It's a cute little home decor item that you can put on your mantle or entry way table. It's approximately 3"x 20". The nice thing is that you can fold it right up for easy storage. It's so cute, even my husband approved and he thinks most things are "allright". Such a guys response!!

You will also be making 2 really cute and duplicatable candy/treat holders. Contact me today if you are interested in attending.

Baby Paige

My friend Christie asked me to help her make a gift for her sister Stacy...she is having a baby girl really soon and Christie wanted to give her something homemade for the baby's room. Christie gave me a photo of the bedding called "Hayley" by Pottery Barn and she also provided the shadow box to complete this project. Here is the photo of the bedding:

Here is what I came up with:

Thank goodness for the cute new Owl Punch that Stampin' Up! has!!! It worked out great! I also used the Beautiful Wings Embosslit and the Simple Alphabet Letters die cuts. The colors I used are Pink Pirouette, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip and a hint of So Saffron. The Designer Papers are from retired packs, but the patterns worked so well with the bedding.

If you are interested in me making something like this for your child or as a gift, contact me today!!

Another Teacher Gift

The boys went off track at the end of August and I wanted to make the teachers a thank you gift for all their hard work. I made a post-it note display and matching mini card. I used a retired Designer Paper and the stamp set from the Summer Mini called "First Day". Here they are:

Keep an eye out for the Halloween Stamp Camp coming on September 30th. I have some super cute projects planned. Contact me today if you are interested in attending.

2 Celebrations In One Day

Last Saturday I attended a Bridal Shower for my future Sister in Law, Stephani. She and Brett (Bryan's younger brother) are getting married in October. I made Stephani a card for her shower. Her colors are Blue, Gray and White. I decided to go with using just the blue and white. Here is the card:

The second party that I attended last Saturday was for my cousin's daughter, Alyssa. She turned 19. What do you get a 19 year old? That is what I asked myself. I spent a day shopping and realized that I am really out of touch with fashion and things that are "cool" and "hip". Do they even use those words anymore?! :) Anyways, at the end of my unsuccessful shopping trip I decided to make her something...an altered notebook. I think she really liked it.

Thank You and a Baby Shower Invite

This is the 3rd card that we made at the last stamp a stack. We used Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo and a random designer button to add a splash of color. The stamp sets that we used are Elements of Style and Curly Cute. Super simple, but bright and fun! (sorry that the picture is washed out by the flash)

The next card is an invitation that I designed for my Aunt Renee and Cousin Desiree to recreate for baby shower invitations. My cousin Brian and his wife Taryn are having a baby girl in the fall. These are her colors and she wants to do a super princess-y girly theme for the baby's room. We thought this would suit her. :) The colors are Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White and a little bit of Pretty in Pink. The glitter adds the bling. We used the Baby Bundle stamp set and the crown is from an old set called "Birthday Beauty."

Happy Stamping, Krista

P.S. The new Holiday Mini Catalog is out and it is so pretty. Check out my website for the new products just released. www.kristajstamps.stampinup.net

Baby Thank You Notes

A friend of mine just had a baby girl. She is doing well and the baby is adorable! Her mom asked me to make some thank you notes for her to use for her baby shower gifts. Here is what I came up with. I think she really liked them. :)

I used Pretty In Pink and Whisper White. I used the Polka Dot Embossing folder and the stamp set is called Puns from the past. I did use a greeting from a different stamp set...I can't remember what it's called. (Pregnancy brain) I also used the new scallop edge punch.

Don't forget to check out my stampinup website at www.kristajstamps.stampinup.net I am also having a card making class at my house on August 19th and 20th. Contact me today if you'd like to join me!

I've Been So Confused

Many of you have already heard that we are expecting baby #3. We were told just 2 short weeks ago that we were having a GIRL...well...as it turns out, we are having a BOY!!! I'm not disappointed in anyway, just relieved to have been able to find out so quickly and rewind our plans and start over. We haven't painted or even done much of anything, so now we are really ready to make room for BABY BOY JENSEN!!!

Here is the Deal of the Day...

How many of you have seen my beautiful canisters in my kitchen. They are made by Home Interiors, but did you notice the cute vinyl decor elements I added to it? I have 2 packages of these for sale...only $10 each (Canisters not inlcuded). I have them in Chocolate Chip color (a deep rich brown). It actually comes with 4 words and the scrolls and are SUPER EASY to apply.

Contact me today at kjensen6330@yahoo.com if you are interested in purchasing this.

All Occasions Cards

We made 3 different cards at my last card party. I don't think I ever got a chance to post these before I started getting the "ickies".

This one is using the Stencils...the fleur de lis is not a stamp! So simple and very versatile! You'll also notice a bit of a silver sparkle on it....that is using the new Shimmer Spritz. It sure adds a nice touch. Sadly, though, the lavendar cardstock has retired. :(

The next card is using the stamp set called Elements of Style. I received this one at the Leadership Convention earlier this year. I had no idea how much I'd love it, since it's not really my style, but I have to say it's now one of my favorites! Do you see the gold shimmer spritz on this one? By the way, the Mellow Moss has retired, too. :(

The last card is with the stamp set called Sweet Scoops. I used Taken with Teal and Only Orange...that are of course retired now. :( But check out the texture on this background. I used one of the new embossing folders with our Big Shot machine. Doesn't it make it so attractive?!

My next Birthday card stamp a stack will be on Thursday, August 19th. Look for the evite to follow. If you would like more information on this event, please contact me at kjensen6330@yahoo.com

It's Been A LONG Time!!!

I am so sorry to have been absent from blogging, but my creative juices had run dry and I was in no shape to stamp. Here's the short version:
-I got pregnant with baby #3

-I got VIOLENTLY sick

-I lost 15 lbs in a short time

-Laid in bed for about 10 weeks

-I took a family vacation in early July

-I'm finally starting to feel a lot better...not 100%, but better!!

Here's the BIG NEWS though.....we're having a GIRL! Yay for the pink team! I've been outnumbered in this house for over 5 years...it's time I get to do something really girly, besides stamping!

In other BIG NEWS, Luke and Tyler started Kindergarten and I really like their new teacher. Her name is Mrs. Kim and this is her first year teaching Kinder after 5 years with 6th graders! She's very brave! So, I made her this adorable Teachers Survival Kit. I got the idea of the Demonstrator group called Stampin' Connection.

Here is the note that went with it:
Almonds when your class is making you feel a little nutty
Band-Aids for when things get a little rough
Chewing gum to help you stick to it
Crayons to color your day bright and cheerful
Eraser to remind you everyone makes mistakes
Lifesavers for when you’ve had one of those days
Paperclips to hold it all together
Pencil to “write your wrongs”
Rubber band to remind you to be flexible
Shiny penny to remind you that each will shine in his or her
own special way
Starburst to give you a “burst” of energy when you need it
Tissues to wipe away the tears…yours and theirs
Toothpick to help you “pick” out the good qualities in
others and yourself.

I will be posting more regularly and scheduling classes starting in August. If you haven't picked up your copy of the NEW Idea Book and Catalog, be sure to stop by and get it...there are TONS of new things!!
I look forward to stamping with you VERY SOON!!!! I miss you guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mother's Day Cards

I think it's safe to post these since Mother's Day is just around the corner.

I used a piece of Sweet Pea Desinger paper, satin ribbon that I gathered and pressed onto a strip of sticky strip. I used a neutral button and linen thread. I embossed the greeting in white. The stamp set is called Whimsical Words.

Here is another version of this card using a different pattern.

I hope you all get a chance to celebrate a special mother in your life...or get spoiled yourself!!

I'm Finally Feeling Alive!

Hi Stampers,
I write to you as if I'm writing a letter. This is to thank you for all of your support over the last 2 weeks. It has been a roller coaster for me and my family. For those of you that don't know, Bryan and I are expecting baby #3! WOW...shocker, I know. We are getting used to the idea. In the meantime, I became severly dehydrated and lost quite a bit of weight in just a matter of days. So my doctor decided to admit me into the hospital to get rehydrated and on anti-nausea meds. After 2 days and nights there, I came home and was hooked up to another IV for fluids and a pump for the anti-nausea meds. I have been able to eat and drink over the last few days and took out the IV a few days ago, but I am still on the anti-nausea meds and will be for quite a while. I am definitely feeling better, not 100%, but I am good with that! Please continue to pray that the baby and I stay healthy during the rest of the pregnancy and that my family is provided for.

Now on to some stamping stuff...
At my next workshop I will be teaching you a new technique called Emboss Resist. You will also learn how to make your own background paper and create a beautiful vintage wall hanging. Here are photos of some of my creations.

Don't forget that you will get to choose your main color for your project. YOu can choose to use the Pretty In Pink like I did or any other of SU!'s 54 colors!

I'll be sending out the evite really soon once I work out all the logistics of the event.

Happy Stamping,

Krista

Another Vintage Card

I used Crushed Curry, Not Quite Navy and Kraft on this card. The designer paper is called Razzleberry Lemondade. I used the stamp set called Puns From the Past. I used a neutral button, linen thread, and satin vanilla ribbon. I roughed up the edges using the cutting tool, and punched the edge of the Not Quite Navy with the Eyelet Border punch. So fun!
More Vintage to come....then the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT of our Mother's Day project that we will be making at my house on May 6th.
Happy Stamping,

Vintage Crazy!

Here is another "vintage" project:

I used the "Elements of Style" stamp set that will be available in the Summer mini catalog coming out on May 1st. This card is inspired by the projects that the Stampin' Up! CEO-Shelly Gardener created at the Leadership Convention that I went to in January. Check out the piece of an old thesaurus that I used in the corner. I also spritzed it with the "Log Cabin Shimmer Spritz" which is also coming out May 1st. The spritz is really heavy, however...it's not too bad. This was my first card that got "spritzed." :) I'm learning how to use it still.

Here is a close up photo from a different angle:

I think we might be making a similar card at my next card party here at my house. Contact me today if you are interested in joining me for some stamping fun!!
Happy Stamping,
Krista

You Won't Believe It...

I went VINTAGE!! Here are some photos of my most recent projects.

Isn't this a cute little paint can? I used the Bella Blue Designer Paper. Check out the layers, the silver embossing and the vintage crinkled flowers. Look at the back:

The next few photos are using the "emboss resist" technique. I also used some of our new Shimmer Spritz on the card with the fleur de lis. By the way, I didn't used a stamp set, I used the "Elegant Trio" stencil set from the Decor Elements mini catalog.

I will post more vintage cards and projects this week.

Happy Stamping,
Krista

My Spring Bouquet

This is my paper version of flowers. They are using the Daisy #2 die cut and any large brad. I pushed the brads into the eraser. That part wasn't easy, but I finally used some pliers to bend the arms of the brad and that really helped save my fingernails. Don't you just love the colors?
