Kinda Eclectic Notepad

I love making gifts, especially practical ones.  Who can't use a cute notepad/pen set?!?  I made this little set for the Display Boards at this years Stampin' Up! Convention.  The stamp set is called Kinda Eclectic.

Here is how I made it:
1. Measure your notepad.  Mine was 4"x6"....a scratch pad from Staples.
2. Cut cardstock 6"x 10"
3. Score cardstock at 4", 4-1/4", 9"
4. Crease the first 2 score lines (this is where your notepad will fit into).
5. Fold over and glue down the flap at the 9" score mark.
6. Cut a 3/4"x 3" strip of cardstock and curl it to wrap around the pen.  Make sure it's not too tight so the pen will easily pass through the hole.
7. Glue the strip to leave a hole for the pen then glue that to the back of the notepad.
8. Glue the notepad into the little holder.
9. Decorate up the front of the notepad holder.  Cuteness has arrived!!

**I use Tombo Mono Liquid Glue**

The DSP pictured above is called Lullaby.  Simple project that you can make dozens of...makes a great gift.  SO great that I made some for my roommates at Convention.

Here they are... I used the same stamp set and no DSP.  I stamped a little more, too.  I LOVE them!! I did fussy cut the leaved out.  Kind of relaxing, if you are in the right mood.

Here is a photo of me and my AWESOME roomies....okay, we didn't all share a room, but we are SU! BFF's!!!

L ro R:  Jane Lee, Stacie Jensen (no we're not related, but we should be),
Erin Gonzales, Erica Cerwin and Me....the luckiest girl to know these ladies!!

Water Color Winter #2

Today I wanted to show you a different card using the stamp set Stampin' Up! gave me to work with for the SU! magazine.  This one was not included in my 4 entries.

This week over at Hand Stamped Sentiments we are challenging you to make a project using fancy folds.  Here is my card....

It's called the Joy Folds Card.  I found the tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers.  Click here to see the directions.  Basically it's a card within a card.  Super cute and very easy!!

It is the same size as a regular 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card, but it has different folds and layers to create this look.

*Helpful Hint* I actually put a tiny drop of the Tombo Multipurpose glue under the front flap and let it dry before I shut it.  That created a removable glue dot so it would stay closed when I wanted it to.

So hop on over to Hand Stamped Sentiments and get scoring to make some fancy folds!!

Ingredients
Stamps: Watercolor Winter, Greetings for the Season
Colors: Real Red, Early Espresso, Lucky Limeade and Very Vanilla,
Accessories: Vintage Brads, Swirl die (retired), Window Frames Framelit
Tools: Scoring Tool, Paper Piercing pack, tool and mat

Party On!

It's a party over at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  Hop on over and share your ideas!! I wanted to make something that would add something nice to the table decor.  I think this would be fun at a summertime ladies luncheon or perhaps a tweens Birthday party?!

By the way, yes....I did fish out all the yellow Skittles out of the bag for this project.  :)

Here is a closeup of the rosette.  I scored a 12" by 1 1/2" piece of cardstock every 1/4".  I think it's a nice size, not overpowering or too top heavy.

The greeting is from the set called Perfect Pair. Cute saying, huh?!

I also made a larger one to pair with it, but I felt like this would be better suited as a centerpiece.

Check out the detail and all the layering with the punches, paper piercing, banners and tails, etc.  FUN!!

Here is the challenge photo....now get over there and get crafty!!  I always LOVE to see new ideas for party favors!!  Mostly because I like to get them!  :)  Hee hee!

Somewhere Over the Rainbow...

Now I've got that song in my head....."that's where you'll find me!!"  Hee hee!  Click your heels together to get to Hand Stamped Sentiments for this week's challenge and proclaim there's no place like home!!

We're not in Kansas anymore Toto!!  We're hopping on the next balloon flight from OZ back home with this card!  This fancy fold is called a center step card.  You can find the instructions here on Split Coast Stampers.
(Honestly, I wish I could take full credit for the design of this card, but I saw a similar card on Stampin' Connection and was inspired by the stamper named Linda Creech.)

Here is another angle of my card.  I used the stamp set called Up, Up and Away.  Perfect, right?!  We will be making this card and 3 others at my next class.

Ingredients:
Colors:  Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, Pacific Point, Old Olive, Whisper White, Basic Gray and Chocolate Chip
Stamps:  Up, Up and Away
Accessories:  Simply Scored Scoring Tool, Paper Trimmer, 2 1/2" Scallop Circle Punch, Boho Blossoms Punch
