It's My Special Day....I Mean Month!

Do you have a Birthday Buddy?  Well, I do, same day just one year apart...yes, I'm older!  And every year we try to do something fun.  This year we did our favorite thing....go to Disneyland.....in style!  We had matching T-shirts made and got our Birthday Buttons. Of course being one year older than my friend Nichole, she got "One Year Younger" on her button....mine said "One Year Cuter".  Hahahahaha!  We were both happy that way!
First stop California Adventure, after getting our free Grand Slam at Denny's.

Next, the big roller coaster called California Screamin'.
We were being silly and the guy behind us....what a cheese!

The day before we celebrated with my parents and my fam!  DANG.....I forgot to get a pic with my mom and dad, AGAIN!!  Every year we say it and then get distracted.  Sorry mom and dad, but thanks for everything that day!!  XOXOXO

I got to have a date night with the hubby last week at Benihana, a fun Japanese restaurant.  Guess what???? Our Chef's name was "Benny"!! I asked if his last name was "HANA" and he just smiled at me.  Who knows???  LOL

Now on to the good, juicy stuff....the moment you've been waiting for....this week's challenge at
Hand Stamped Sentiments!!  It's a sketch, an awesome one at that!

Here is what I came up with....

Happy Stamping Folks....now on to continue my Birthday Month!  LOL

Ch Ch Ch Chip and Dale

Having boys is so much fun...especially when they are twins!!  They are built in best buddies, but as the story goes....they also encourage each other to be silly!!  We spent an afternoon at Disneyland not too long ago and we came upon this little statue of Chip and Dale.  They happened to be our favorite characters at the Disney Resort, Aulani, in Hawaii.  My boys liked that they were cool and funny brothers.
These are some fun photos of them pretending they are Chip and Dale...and also being silly with the statues, too.  Yes, these are my boys!  And, I'm sure I was encouraging all of this craziness, too, because that's how I roll! LOL

I made this whole, SUPER SIMPLE page with the My Digital Studio program!  It only took me a whopping 15 minutes for the whole page.  The hardest thing was deciding the colors and the photos I wanted to use.  The rest was easy because the program is so user friendly!!

The inspiration for this page came from the mid-month inspiration sketch over at Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge blog.  This is the Sketch:

Christmas Gift Card Holders

It's all about packaging, right?!  I love making gift card holders for the holidays and birthdays.  This year I am doing a few craft fairs and these sell like hot cakes.  Why not get started making them now?!

I used the colors for the challenge this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments. They are Raspberry Ripple, Gumball Green and Baked Brown Sugar.  These colors scream Christmas...a very yummy Christmas!!

When Closed, these gift card holders measure 4-1/4" x 3-1/4".  The fun thing is that you can decorate these for any occasion with just about any stamp set...they are the perfect size!!

Here is a photo from the top of them.  I wrap and adhere the ribbon to the center that way it doesn't slide off it.  It also closes very nicely...easily fitting inside an envelope if you'd like.
Here's how to score it:
Take an 11" x 4-1/4" piece of cardstock.
Score at 3-1/4", 5-1/2" and 7-3/4"
Crease into a "W" shape....

Here is a photo of where the gift card fits in.
Using the Word Window punch, make 2 punches side by side at the center fold only cutting 1/2 of the window shape.  The center of the fold will still have to be cut.
You can use any shape.  I used the new Label Bracket Punch to punch out the center (between the 2 window punch cuts).

When you adhere the "W" shape...just make a thin line of glue around just the edges that need to be adhered so you can leave space for the gift card to slide into.
Fun stuff!!  A great way to present someone special with a gift card!!

Celebrate and Be Inspired!!

I have a BIG ANNOUNCEMENT....I have been selected to be a Design Team Member for the next 6 months at Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge blog!!  WOOT!  The news came at the end of a crummy day and boy this made all the crumminess go away!  I am so excited to be creating alongside some pretty FABULOUS Stampers!!  So....that being said....you MUST join me this month at SCIC and be inspired!!

Here are the inspiration photos:

My FIRST project is a card.  I drew out the antique frame, the green wrought iron swirl
and the roses and came up with this:

This is a close up of the roses.  Do you see the glittery centers of the roses?  I added some Dazzling Diamonds to make them pop.  Kinda looks like a little bit of dew?!  And yes, I know the swirl dies are retired, but I couldn't help myself.  LOL

But since there was so much to be inspired by this month I couldn't stop there.  I came up with this scrapbook page from the cake design.  See...it is okay to add a tiny bow to a boy page.  This is my son when he was just about 4 months old.  SO cute, right?!

I first punched out 1-3/8" circles from Tangerine Tango cardstock then I punched the 1-3/4" circle around it to make it centered.  For the circles next to the photo, I used the negative space and then glued the 1-3/8" circle inside it.  Kind of a cool effect.  I embossed the word and arrow stamp with silver embossing powder and added the vanilla seam binding bow and there you have it.  Simple, clean but inspired!!

Card Ingredients:
Colors: Pool Party, Whisper White, Smoky Slate and Gumball Green
Stamps: Six Sided Sampler
Accessories: Tulip Border Embossing Folder, 1 3/4" and 1 3/8" Circle punches,
Dazzling Details, Swirls Sizzlit, Stampin' Sponges

8x8" Page:
Colors: Calypso Coral and Very Vanilla
Stamps: Hello, Lovely
Accessories: Vanilla Seam Binding, Silver Embossing Powder, Silver Marker,
1 3/4" and 1 3/8" Circle punches

Again, thank you to the DT for including me in this creative journey at Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge Blog....it's gonna be awesome.
