Canvas Scrapbook Page

It's Mother's Day over at Hand Stamped Sentiments...

Some of you have seen me make these before...but I just can't get enough of their girly goodness!

It's a scrapbook page mounted on to a canvas. I took a plain piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and turned it into this wonderful gift. I was inspired by Shelli Gardner's Vintage Emboss Resist projects at Leadership 2010. Just add a 5 x 7 photo printed in sepia and viola...a perfect gift for mom.

Here is a close up of the emboss resist technique...

I am selling these this year....but you must place your order soon if you'd like it by Mother's Day.

Happy Stamping,
Krista

Graduation Time!!

My cousin's daughter is graduating this year from Alta Loma High School here in sunny So. Cal.! I remember when she was born...WOW...time flies!! Anyways, the challenge this week over at Hand Stamped Sentiments is Graduation themed projects, cards and gifts. I was asked to make a gift and found myself inspired by my beautiful cousin, Destinee. She is so fun, so talented and such a blessing to our family. I know she'll be successful at whatever she does in life!!

I decided to make a card and matching "memories book" for her to put pics in, journal her thoughts and save some memorabilia from her Senior year. These are also her school colors.

Since this was for a girl and the colors are more masculine, I HAD to add cute ribbon and some bling!

Congratulations Destinee!!! I can't wait to see what life has in store for you!!

Ingredients: Pacific Point, Basic Gray and Whisper White Cardstock, Blueberry DSP, Sock Monkey Accessories stamp set, Something to Celebrate Stamp Set, Pacific Point and Black Stazon inks. Simple Numbers and Billboard letters Die Cuts, Big Shot, Basic Gray and Whisper White Satin Ribbon, Whisper White grosgrain and taffeta ribbon, rhinestones, scallop punch, tab punch, curly label punch.

Craft Fair Wrap Up

So...it was a BEAUTIFUL and very HOT day in Southern California on Saturday....that means that everyone went to the beach or to a pool. Needless to say, they didn't come to the craft fair this weekend. :( I had so many cute things to sell that day, too. I should know that committing to a spring-time boutique is not always gonna bring in huge sales.

This was the first time that the Chino Library did this and I know the book fair went really well, but people mostly came to buy books. I do think that the boutiques in general do A LOT better at Christmas!! The set up was nice and I met a lot of great people. I want to thank the Friends of the Chino Branch Library for letting me participate in this event. You did a fantastic job putting this together!!

Here are some photos of my booth:

I sold a few of the desktop post it note holders:

I didn't sell any of these desktop notepads. I think I'll add a pen in the box.
I didn't sell any of the canvases, but I did sell quite a few cards. Those always go over really well! :)

I am selling the canvases via email and facebook...if you are interested in one, please contact me or write a comment on this post with your email address. I am also taking orders for personalized canvases, too.

So, if you're thinking about selling at a craft fair in the spring, be prepared to have lighter crowds than those events in the fall.

Happy Stamping,
Krista

Easter Gift Set

Easter is what it's all about over at HSS...

Here is my entry for the Hand Stamped Sentiments Design Team. I was asked to create a gift set. It's a really simple project with...what else....chocolate! Gotta have some chocolate in a cute little Easter basket, plus a little bunny notepad holder for your desk. I got the template for the notepad holder from my friend and fellow demonstrator Sandy Hancock.

I used some of our retired designer paper from last year. I just love the springy colors!! The stamp set for the bunny is Forest Friends and the Easter is Something to Celebrate from the Occasions Mini.

Here is a close up of the basket. I used the Scallop Envelope Die cut and my Big Shot! Plus...check out the butterflies on the candies. Lovin' me those butterflies again!!

Here is a close up of the candy bar. I used the Daisy Die #2 and just layered and curled them up with an ink pen.

May God bless you this Easter season!! HE IS RISEN....HE IS RISEN INDEED!!!

Krista

The Runner Up

The challenge this week over at Hand Stamped Sentiments was to do a project using all shades of Pink! I started with this project:

Here is a side view to see the dimension:

I just wasn't "in love" with it, but it is fanciful! Can you tell that I am really into butterflies right now. It's so easy when you use the Butterfly "Beautiful Wings Embosslit" from Stampin' Up!

Happy Stamping,
Krista

Pink A Licious

It's official....I'm now a Design Team member for Hand Stamped Sentiments. I haven't met any of these crafty ladies in person, but have chatted with a few of them via phone and email. They are so sweet and so talented. This weeks challenge is to do a "pinkalicious" project using SU! colors...Pretty in Pink, Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo, Rose Red and Regal Rose.

Since having 3 boys, my brain works in shades of blue and green and the occasional red...this challenge was....well....challenging!! I do like girly stuff and I LOVE the Beautiful Wings Embosslit....so here it is:

Here is a side view to see the dimension:

I just had to add a little bit of Early Espresso to distress it.

Ingredients: Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink, Pink Pirouette Cardstock, Early Espresso Ink, Vintage Jumbo Wheel and Handle. Butterfly Embosslit, Top Note Die Cut, Big Shot, Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon, Naturals Buttons, Linen Thread, Pearls, Sponges.

If you have any questions or you would like to place an order...please send me a message.

Happy Stamping,
Krista
