Trinket Challenge at HSS

I haven't used a trinket yet for one of my projects, so knowing this challenge was coming up I ordered a pack of the keys. They are so cute!

I love the brushed nickel look and they really have a lot of detail.

This weeks challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments is to dust off those charms and trinkets that you ordered and put them to use.

Here is my card that I submitted for inspiration. Basically I am saying "here is the key to my heart" with this card.

I wanted to use the fabric that was in the Occasions mini...it's coming back in the main IB&C for another run! They also have some other NEW patterns, too! I can't wait for you to see them!! July 1st can't come soon enough!!
On the solid heart I did the "rock and roll" technique. Did you notice the shimmer spritz I used, too?!

Ingredients:
Cardstock: Melon Mambo, Whisper White and Baja Breeze
Stamps: With All My Heart
Ink: Always Artichoke, Baja Breeze.
Accessories: White Satin ribbon, Linen Thread, Springtime Vintage Fabric, Eyelet Border Punch, Trinket Keys, Vanilla Shimmer Spritz, Small Heart Punch, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Big Shot

We Love Dad

This is the "JUNE" layout we did for my Scrapbook Club. I can't wait to add photos to this page!! This year for Father's Day, Bryan and the twins went beach camping so I didn't get any pics of the special day. We are planning to get to the park and take some photos. I even bought coordinating colored shirts for all 4 of my guys! I used the new Pennant Parade Stamp Set and the coordinating Pennant Punch. SO FUN!

Left Page:

Right Page:

Close Up of the "Sweet Scoops" that were embossed
using the new colored embossing powders:

I love the color combo, very fun and still masculine. I used Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point Blue, Wild Wasabi and Tangerine Tango. Accented by Very Vanilla and Soft Suede. This would also be great for a birthday page.

May Scrapbook Pages

I wanted to do a "Mother's Day" theme for these pages, but I was stumped....working with shades of Pink are not my norm for my scrapbooks! Having 3 boys I tend to go towards the blues, greens and yellows.
I had some of our fabric and I wanted to incorporate that as well. Here is the left page...

Here is the right page....

Now here is MY version for Baby Travis' album. Mother's Day toned down for a boys book! :)

It's already in my album, but it's time to add photos.
I am also planning to write baby Travis a little note about how much I love being his Mommy!

Next blog post...June Pages!!

USA, USA, USA!!!

I am so thankful that we live in a country where we can worship, and move freely!! I am also thankful for our troops that fought so hard to get us here!!
This week at Hand Stamped Sentiments we were asked to create a 4th of July project and a card...here are my projects.....

The top photo is garland using the small and large Star punches. The small one is retired and the large one will be retired at the end of the month. I really am so SHOCKED that they have retired BOTH star punches. What's a patriotic person to do??
The bottom photo is a card using the star punches again and the glimmer paper from the holiday mini. The banner is using the NEW pennant punch available on July 1st. It's not something I would have normally purchased, but just wait until you see all of the projects I've used it for ALREADY!! I can't wait to share!! :)
It's gonna be a busy week in the Jensen house, the twins graduate Kindergarten on Thursday, so the week is filled with chaos and fun!! Have a great week all!!

GOD BLESS THE USA!!! ~Krista

I Am So Honored...

...To be considered by a new friend named Genevieve, as a "Stylish Blogger". I've been part of a design team with Genevieve Valdes for a few months now over at Hand Stamped Sentiments. Let me tell you...she is one talented artist! I was introduced to her by another new stamping friend, Shannon Eberhardt, a fellow SU! demonstrator and HSS Design Team Member who happens to live close to me. I am so truly blessed to be a part of this team of demonstrators as we share our love of paper crafting with the world! :)

I get to wear a "badge" on my blog that says I'm a "Stylish Blogger"....so cool!! I started blogging a couple years back for my customers, family and friends, but it looks like I've finally made it into a new category, a cooler one!! :)

I am so excited to share my ideas with you whenever I get a chance to sit down and actually post. Between feeding the baby (6 months old) and taking care of the 6 year old twins and the hubby (whose age will remain untold, hee hee) it gets pretty busy sometimes. But I enjoy sharing what I love with all of you!!

Thank you again, Genevieve for this honor and recognition!! Here is a card that makes me think of you and how warm and kind you are...

...and another angle to see the dimension.

I love the warmth of the Baja Breeze color and the Elegant Soiree Designer Paper (retiring at the end of the month).

Happy Stamping,
Krista

This is one of the cards that we made it showcases a few different techniques. Sorry for the glare from the silver embossed flower.

I Love Weddings

I remember back more than 20 years ago holding two precious babies named Amy and Lindsay. No, they're not twins, but they are very close in age. One is my first cousin and the other is my cousin's oldest daughter. They both recently got engaged to be married to some really great guys!! I am so proud of the beautiful women of God that they are and they are going to be such beautiful brides!!

Here is a photo of the happy couples!!
L to R: Brennan and Lindsay....Amy and Johnny

The challenge this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments is "I Do"...a wedding theme....so what better way to find inspiration than asking my cousin's about their upcoming weddings.
I was asked to create 2 different wedding favors. One is for Lindsay's wedding and the other is for Amy's.....Click on the photo for a larger view.

The Elegant Eggplant top note box will fit 2 small chocolate truffles inside. Maybe some See's Chocolates?! I used the Scallop Circle punch to make the crinkled up flower on the top of the small box. I wanted to make it look like a Hydrangea since Lindsay plans to have them in her bouquet.

The Cherry Cobbler pouch was made with the Baskets and Blooms Die (retiring in a few weeks). I turned it into the pouch instead of the basket. You could fit a small magnet, keychain or flat shaped candy inside. I filled it with the tissue paper to make it look softer. The flower is the one that comes with the die cut. Cute, huh?!

I can't wait for their weddings!! I am so excited!!

Happy Stamping,
Krista

Father's Day....Asian Style

My kids are so blessed to have such a great daddy! I am so glad that God brought us together nearly 10 years ago. I hope that he has a fantastic Father's Day this year...he deserves more than a day of celebration!! Here is a proud daddy:

I was trying to think out of the box for the challenge this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments.

Our challenge is "Father's Day" and I decided to add all of the elements of the Asian Culture. They are Earth, Air, Water, Fire and Wood. Here is my card:

Let me explain my definition of these elements in the card.

Earth: The Bonsai Tree
Air: The free space and the dimensionals lifting the elements
Water: The blue circles
Fire: The Poppy color and the Crystal Effects on the pot of the plant
Wood: The rattan feel of the embossed background

I like the clean lines and the colors...all have a nice symmetry and crisp look. Very masculine. :) Here is a close up of the dimension:

And another angle....

Ingredients:
Colors: Poppy Parade, Early Espresso, Bashful Blue, Very Vanilla
Stamps: Plant Hope, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Accessories: Big Shot, Embossing Folder, Crystal Effects, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, Word Window Punch

Happy Stamping,

I got my first shipment of the BRAND NEW Stampin' Up! 2011-12 Idea Book and Catalog!! I have to say, I've been doing this for over 7 years now and I always get so excited. My husband even said that it's like when a kid gets the Toys R Us Christmas Catalog.

Okay, time to stop typing...I'm gonna go page through the new IB&C again! :)
