Color Q Challenge #126

I've been venturing out and entering new challenges and today the baby decided to take a nice long nap....so instead of cleaning I decided to stamp!!  WOO HOO!!   Here is my entry for the challenge at Color Q.

It was a nice color challenge this week....very springy!!  Here is the inspiration photo...

The next photo is a close up shot of my flower.  I used the Mixed Bouquet Stamp Set and I did the "rock and roll" technique with Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie.  I really like the way it turned out!  I also did it on the "Friend" stamp from the Family Reunion stamp set.  I used Daffodil Delight and Lucky Limeade for that rock and roll action.  :)

Other Ingredients:  Early Espresso Bakers Twine, Big Top Birthday DSP, Square Lattice embossing folder, Bold Buttons

Happy Stamping,
Krista

Banner Bash #107 at HSS

Join us this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments for a Banner Par-tay!!  Get out your Pennant Punch or your paper snips and make a fun project.

My boys will be SEVEN years old in March.  I still can't believe that!!  So, I am being a good mommy and planning ahead.  I took this photo at the mountains last week when we went to play in the little snow that was left. I'm so sorry for the quality of the print...I did it on my cheapy printer.  I guess it's time for a new one.

Isn't there a saying "why reinvent the wheel?" ?  Yes...so why should I reinvent a scrapbook page layout.  A benefit that I have as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator is the Stampin' Success monthly magazine.  In it this month was a cute page layout....so I decided to be inspired.
Here is a photo of the page I made with the page of the magazine below it.  Cute, huh?!

Color Blocking

Join us for a fun technique challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  I really like this idea....you can't go wrong or make this crooked...it's just a block of color over a fill in type of stamp.  How easy is that?!

I decided to make a digital page...a special one for my sister.  We celebrated her life/birthday about a month ago.  The back story is that she was struck by a car 9 months ago when she was crossing the street.  She was badly injured and had a long recovery.  But with the help of her loving family she is walking and almost 100% recovered.  God was sure looking out for her and spared her life!!  He has BIG plans for her!!
So this year we celebrated her life on her birthday.

Colors:  Cajun Craze, Basic Gray, Basic Black, Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise
Stamps:  Boho Blossoms, Calendar Cues

My hubby approved of this card and he said it reminded him of the movie The Karate Kid....the original....because of the bonsai tree.  He's so funny, but I'm glad I got the man's approval.  :)

Sketch Challenge at Stampin' Queens

I needed inspiration....badly!!
I happened to come across this simple and sweet sketch challenge at Stampin Queens.

And viola....here is my entry....

Here is a close up shot of the flowers.  I embossed them with black embossing powder and colored them in with our fabulous SU markers!!  The colors are inspired by the Twitterpated DSP that I also used down the center.  They are Baja Breeze, Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzaz and Whisper White.

Oh yes, this is one of the projects my Stamp-a-doodles downline group will be making tomorrow night, too!  Thanks Stampin' Queens for the inspiration!!!

It's super late here!!  Time to get bed!  Night night....

Why I LOVE Sale-a-bration

Of course, it's for the FREE STUFF.  I ain't gonna lie!!  This year is no exception!!  They really made a nice catalog for SAB and have some FAB stuff in it, too!  Check this card out....I made it using my FREE stamp set called Outlined Occasions.  There are 3 outlined greetings and 3 phrase stamps that go with them.  SO cute!!

I embossed the word "LOVE" with white on Cherry Cobbler.  Then punched it out with the Decorative Label punch. It fits perfectly!  Added a banner, some bling and, of course, hearts.  Valentine's Day is coming up quick!  Place your order today so you'll have plenty of time to make someone a fancy handmade Valentine!!

Happy Stamping,
