Canvas Mounted Scrapbook Page, Kinda Eclectic

You know those projects you make that you just fall in love with?  Well this is one of them for me.  The bright colors, the bits of sparkle and my cute family all mounted on to an 8"x10" canvas.
Love it!

I used the Sweet Taffy DSP with Daffodil Delight cardstock for the base.  I stamped the starburst image on the Daffodil Delight cardstock with Versamark and then embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I made a Melon Mambo spiral flower.  Stamped more of the Kinda Eclectic images and cut them out.  On the flower I attached strands of ribbon, sequins and bakers twine.  Pearls on the butterfly too. I added the tiny punched flowers with pearls and there you have it.

Mounting the page onto the canvas:
BEFORE you add ANY embellishments, use mod podge all over the canvas in a thin layer.  Softly press the base of the page onto the canvas.  Curl and press the edges on too.  Turn the canvas over and flatten and press with your hands to smooth out the page base cardstock.

After it's all dried, then go back and add the embellishments.

Happy Stamping!

Kinda Eclectic, Kinda Simple

Who doesn't like an easy card?!  I LOVE this card, the colors, the use of stamps and the ease of it.  The most difficult part was "fussy cutting" out the leaves and deciding where to place the rhinestones.  Other than that...this is a great card to make over and over.  This set again....awesomeness!!

This card didn't make it on the display board, but there were so many similar cards up there, I felt honored to "be like" my peers....or should I say the SU! rockstar artists!!  Please make sure you visit their blogs.  They are listed below....

Kindess Tag With Kinda Eclectic

I'm so bummed the photo looks so yellow....on my iPhoto program it looks fine.  Sorry!
Anyways....I'm such a vertical/horizontal card maker I pushed myself to go tilted....HA!

I cut a cute little tag with the Tag Topper Punch and stamped the leaf on it.  Added a little sprout of various ribbons, punched some flowers from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack and there's the tag!

The butterfly was easy with the stamp and coordinating punch.  I added some pearls and a banner for the greeting. Done!

Kinda Eclectic Notepad

I love making gifts, especially practical ones.  Who can't use a cute notepad/pen set?!?  I made this little set for the Display Boards at this years Stampin' Up! Convention.  The stamp set is called Kinda Eclectic.

Here is how I made it:
1. Measure your notepad.  Mine was 4"x6"....a scratch pad from Staples.
2. Cut cardstock 6"x 10"
3. Score cardstock at 4", 4-1/4", 9"
4. Crease the first 2 score lines (this is where your notepad will fit into).
5. Fold over and glue down the flap at the 9" score mark.
6. Cut a 3/4"x 3" strip of cardstock and curl it to wrap around the pen.  Make sure it's not too tight so the pen will easily pass through the hole.
7. Glue the strip to leave a hole for the pen then glue that to the back of the notepad.
8. Glue the notepad into the little holder.
9. Decorate up the front of the notepad holder.  Cuteness has arrived!!

**I use Tombo Mono Liquid Glue**

The DSP pictured above is called Lullaby.  Simple project that you can make dozens of...makes a great gift.  SO great that I made some for my roommates at Convention.

Here they are... I used the same stamp set and no DSP.  I stamped a little more, too.  I LOVE them!! I did fussy cut the leaved out.  Kind of relaxing, if you are in the right mood.

Here is a photo of me and my AWESOME roomies....okay, we didn't all share a room, but we are SU! BFF's!!!

L ro R:  Jane Lee, Stacie Jensen (no we're not related, but we should be),
Erin Gonzales, Erica Cerwin and Me....the luckiest girl to know these ladies!!

Kinda Eclectic Inspired

I've been working with this set for several weeks now.  I was chosen to be a Display Stamper at the Stampin' Up! Convention this year.  I was a bit scared of it at first since the images are so different.  But I really fell in love with the set after using it.  Here is a card that we made at my last class.  It just so happens to be inspired by the photos for the Stampin' Celebration Challenge Blog.

The colors used are Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow, Lost Lagoon and lots of Gold sparkle with the vellum and the sequins.

Join us at Stampin' Celebration!  Check out some totally AWESOME stuff by the other DT too!!

HSS Sketch #184

It's a sketch challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  I must admit I struggled a bit, but I am happy with the way my card turned out.

Here is a close up shot.  Do you see the silver paper peeking out?  I put a strip of it behind the hexagon punches and a Modern Window Punch behind the greeting.  It added a little touch of shine.

Here is the sketch...join us this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments!!

Happy Day With Sparkles

This week over at Hand Stamped Sentiments we are challenging you to be inspired by a sketch.
If someone asked me today what my favorite product from Stampin' Up! was I would have to say the glitter paper!!  Adding sparkle without the mess....GENIUS!!  I know, the Big Shot and Embossing Folders are a very close second, but adding some pizzaz without the hassle is awesome!
Here is my card....

I used the "Happy Day" and "Papillon Potpourri" stamp sets, Pool Party and Whisper White with a splash of Island Indigo for the ink and in the DSP.  Of course the glitter paper, butterfly punch, some rhinestones and a vintage faceted button.  I embossed the background with the polka dot embossing folder, too.

Here is the sketch....click on over and join us for this FAB challenge!!

Butterfly Swirls

Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge this week is to use Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo and Daffodil Delight.  I threw in some Crumb Cake and this is what I came up with...

Can you see the shimmer paint?  You can see it better at this angle....

I made this card similar to my previous post to include it in my class that I host for my church group.  Sometimes it's fun to do something simple with a little touch of sparkle and this card has it.

I used the stamp set called Flowering Flourishes and the Beautiful Wings Embosslit.

Spring Butterflies in Pink

I had a few spare minutes this weekend between all of the celebrating for the twins' 8th Birthday activities.  So, I decided to enter a couple of challenges over at Dynamic Duos and Friday Mashup.

Here is my card....simple and sweet, using the butterfly embosslit, the flower flourish stamp set, a button, some pearls and topped it off with a few splashes of vanilla shimmer spritz.  Can you see it?

Here are the logos, sketches and color palettes for this challenge.  I did, however fail to read the fine line and I didn't use my brayer.  :(  Sorry for that!  But, it was fun to get involved this week!
