Banner For A Beautiful Baby

This weeks challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments is using a banner in your project.

My friend Karen and her family welcomed the cutest baby girl into their family this week. She is so adorable and such a huge blessing! I wanted to make her a super special card, so I thought, why not make her a 6" x6" card so she can add it to a brag book album. This is actually a card, but I'll make sure she knows that I'll be converting it into an album for her...soon. :) You know....when I get free time. ;)

Don't you love the Pretty in Pink with the Basic Gray combo? I thought it was nice, and a little different than my "go to" pink and brown combo. Here, are a couple close-up photos of the details....

Do you notice the sparkle? I used our Shimmer Paint in Frost White. It just needed some sparkle to it. I usually use the Rhinestones, but I decided to try something different. I used a foam brush to paint some of the Shimmer on the stamp. That way I was able to evenly distribute it and make it so it's not so clumpy. I think it added a nice touch.....

Ingredients:
Colors: Pretty In Pink, Basic Gray, Whisper White
Stamps: Pennant Parade, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Punches: Pennants Builder, 3/4" Circle, 1/2" Circle, Decorative Label & Scallop Trim
Accessories: White Bakers Twine, Basic Gray Satin Ribbon, Neutral Button, White Shimmer Paint, Tasteful Trim Die Cut, Texturz Plate-Backgrounds 1, Big Shot

Baby Boy Card...Stitched

This is the card that I made for my neighbor's new baby boy. He's due to arrive next month, but since I made a girl card for the Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge, I thought I'd better make one for the new baby boy, too.

I used my new hand held sewing machine for this card. I love the look of the Tasteful Trim die cut, too....looks like real rickrack. Here is a close up of some of the detail....

Hello Again, It's Stitching Time

I know it's been a while since I've posted....I had strep throat....BLECH!! But with a nice dose of antibiotics, I'm back!! This week's challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments is called "All Stitched Up"...that means you need to use either sewing, stitching or faux stitching in your project.

I really like being a part of this design team. It's forcing me to learn new techniques and use new products and ideas. So for this one, I decided to bite the bullet and get a sewing machine. I know, you're thinking I had to spend a fortune, but I bought the $13 hand-held one from Walmart. I'm just testing out the sewing thing to see if it's worth it to splurge for a real, big girl one....we'll see. Honestly, it's just one more thing that will end up caking up dust, I'm sure.

Okay....here it is....my card with real, actual, battery powered, needle and thread action, stitched up card.

I know, I know....I didn't get carried away with this, I just wanted it to make a simple statement....like my blog says...."simple". :)

Here is a close up shot of the stitching....looks like I need to brush up on my sewing skills. LOL!!!

This card is for my friend Christie. She has 2 boys and just had her first baby girl. I've only seen a picture of her, but I can't wait to see her in person. Hopefully I'll be able to hand deliver this real soon. Gotta make sure I'm all finished with my antibiotics first. I don't want to spread any germs.

Ingredients:
Colors: Pretty in Pink, Soft Suede, Whisper White, Pink Pirouette
Stamps: Baby Bundle
Accessories: DSP Subtles Pack, Tasteful Trim Die Cut, White Satin Ribbon, Vintage Trinkets, Sewing machine

Happy Stamping,
Krista

School Days

I've been feeling under the weather and found out today that I have strep throat. YUCK! Now just hoping and praying that the rest of my family doesn't get it!! Needless to say, I had to sit out of the challenge this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments.

So bummed, because I had in mind what I wanted to do, but just couldn't get it together. Don't forget to check out the challenge, though....and take a look at the SUPER CUTE projects my friends, aka the Design Team, came up with!!!

In the meantime, a cute pic of my kiddos:
