Tag For Christmas

I love Christmas!  I wish I had more time to make Christmas crafts throughout the year!  That needs to be my New Year's Resolution!!  Start making Christmas stuff EARLY!!  Well, this year, I hosted my Christmas paper crafting class early!  All of my friends that came got to make this cool tag.

Tags are so much fun and can spice up any old wrapping paper or plain bag.  I think this sweet and simple tag could use some glitter or bling, but I didn't want to distract from the swirls, the ornament stamp and the fun little sprouts of ribbon.

Join us this week and TAG us!!  :)  Hand Stamped Sentiments is THE place to be for tagging this week!

Happy Stamping!

Fall Card #2

Pictures do not do this technique justice!!  You must try it!!  Check out the previous post to see the steps to making these lovely fall leaves.  They are SO realistic!!

This is a card that my customers will be making at the next class coming up in less than 2 weeks!  I love the way it turned out!!

And a close up shot so you can see the detail.

Happy Stamping,

Life Like Leaves

Join us this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments and be inspired by this lovely fall photo.
I just happened to stumble across a video tutorial by a lady named RaeDeen from Iowa on Stampin' Connection on how to make die cut leaves look more real.  Oh yes, she nailed it!  So I tried to make them myself.  AWESOME!!  I love how they turned out!! Looks so fab with the woodgrain embossing folder, too!

At first I wasn't sure about the smaller, lighter colored leaf, but I think it adds a nice touch.  In this close up shot, you have to check out the spines, the spots and the layers of sponging.  Also, before crumbling the card stock, I spritzed it with the gold shimmer spritz.  It's hard to tell how much it sparkles....it's just enough.

Click on the photo to enlarge the image!!

I don't think the lady that made this has it on You Tube...I couldn't find it.  So here we go......
In words, this is how I did it:
1. Die cut the maple leaf shape out of Daffodil Delight.
2. Using your stylus from the scoring tool, make the lines for the spines. Then trace it in with the Early Espresso marker....the small tip side.
3. Sponge the leaf all over with More Mustard, Always Artichoke and Cherry Cobbler.  I did it in that order for the one on the left and I used Early Espresso and Cherry Cobber and Always Artichoke on the right.
4. Using the Spritzer Tool...spritz the leaf with the Early Espresso marker.
5. Spray with a shimmer paint/alcohol mix then crumple up.
6. Open it up and let dry.

ALL DONE!  I guess I need to get on the ball and start making videos.

Happy Fall Y'all and Happy Stamping!!

Naked BOO Pages

I know, it's a catchy title, but my pages are missing something.....the photos of my 3 spooky kids in their costumes.  Well, duh, Halloween isn't here yet.  Guess what?  I work ahead of schedule.  Hee hee....sometimes.  But I cheat, I host a monthly scrap booking class so that way I'll work ahead.

Anyways, I've been inspired by the banner I made a couple weeks back.  Click here to see it.  That's how I came up with the colors and theme of these pages.
I like to keep things simple, where you'll still notice the photos.  I didn't want to go overboard....if you know me, you'll know that I like simple, clean lines!!

Here is a closer shot of the left page:

Here is a closer shot of the right page:

I do like little splashes of interest.  Here is my favorite....the little mummy is on 2 layers of the Window Framelits and the Tangerine layer I paper pierced.  Then I added tiny banners and a Basic Gray button with some taffeta ribbon.  Cute, right?!

I hope you all have a fun and safe Halloween this year!  We got invited to our first family Halloween/trick or treating party and I am SOOO excited.....maybe even more than my kids.  :)

Happy Stamping,

Gettin' Inky With It

This week for Hand Stamped Sentiments I wanted to make another Halloween card, but the more I looked at those stamps, the more I was not inspired....so.....I made a fall card instead!  Here is what I came up with:

Jiggy on over this week to Hand Stamped Sentiments and be challenged with a fun technique.  Ink up your embossing folders and "impress" us!!

Okay, here's how I did this.....and no....I didn't use our "core-dinations" paper either.

1. I rubbed Soft Suede ink on one side of my embossing folder.
2. Ran a piece of Naturals Vanilla CS in that embossing folder through the Big Shot.
3. Next, I inked up my Brayer with Soft Suede ink and inked off a little then ran it over the embossing/inked side.
4. Stamped some leaves from the Gently Falling Stamp set in Raspberry Ripple, Gumball Green and Summer Starfruit.
....And here's a close up shot of the embossing....

On a side note, I have some super sweet and exciting news!!  I was asked a couple months ago by SU! to be a guest artist in the Stampin' Success Magazine.  Of course, I said YES!!  They sent me the set called Watercolor Winter from the Holiday Catalog and told me to create 4 projects.
If you are a Demonstrator, it's on page 20-21 of the Nov/Dec. 2012 issue of Stampin' Success!! YES....It's for real!!  I still can't believe it and I'm still on cloud 9!!

Thanks for indulging me in a bit of bragging.  :)

Happy Stamping!

Work It Girl

Oh yes, it's that time of year for craft fairs and boutique shows.  I have been SO busy stamping away and making cards and other gifts for a craft fair I did this past Sunday.  It ended up being a great day.  Here are some photos of my table.

This is a little collage of some of my favorite notepads and other items.

Here is a better shot of my business cards.  They were a big hit!

I hope have a great week and Happy Stamping!

Pumpkin and Corn

Hop on over to the Hand Stamped Sentiments blog this week and be pumpkin challenged!!  You must see the other DT's projects....so stinkin' cute!!

Mine is simple, and so fun!  I used the new Ghoulish Kit from the holiday catalog.  I stamped the pumpkin with the Got Treats set and added a little spritz of sparkle.  Kinda hard to see in this photo.
I made a banner with the new DSP and some glimmer paper.
Last, but not least, I filled the bag with some "corn" as my 22month old son would say.  He loves that stuff.  I know, I'm a bad mom, I let my kid eat candy.  Not a lot, just enough to make him happy.

Happy Stamping!!

HSS #138

You must check out the challenge this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  Every week the Design Team amazes me, but this week they totally knocked my socks off!!   This color combo is AWESOME!!

I wanted to use the new Scalloped Tulle Ribbon....it comes in Espresso.  Then I saw my Toxic Treats stamp set sitting out.  Next I found my Fancy Favor die cut....and here is how it came together.

I would venture to say it's a frilly favor for a Halloween party?!  I added some splotches of Espresso on the box with my Early Espresso marker and my color spritzer tool.  I stamped the greeting in the Island Indigo for a splash of color....then spritzed that, too.  I think it came out okay. Pretty easy to make a few dozen of these for a party, I think.

Have a great week friends!  Happy Stamping!
