Join us at Hand Stamped Sentiments for a Bargello Challenge!! What is Bargello you say? Well, it's a technique where you take strips of paper, cut them the opposite direction then place those strips in an offset pattern on another piece of cardstock. Okay, it sounds hard, but once you have your vision, it makes such a huge statement.
I have to admit I looked it up on Splitcoast and had to watch the video and then I sat and pondered it for quite some time. But I have to say, I think it adds such a nice touch of color, texture and pattern to my scrap book page. The little guy isn't so bad himself either. :)
Here is a close up shot so you can see the patterned paper and the offsets in more detail.
We will actually be making this page along with another page for our November scrapbook layout. Here is the other page....
Ingredients:
Colors: Soft Suede, More Mustard, Pool Party, Pear Pizzaz, Wild Wasabi
Stamps: Gently Falling
Accessories: Spice Cake DSP, Pool Party Ribbon, Soft Suede Wide Striped Ribbon, Spice Cake Button, Linen Thread, Lattice Border Punch
Happy Stamping,
Krista

WOW!! I so need to come to your house so you can whip my scrapbooking booty in gear! Both the pages are cute and great job on the Bargello side border!
I've had this technique in my 'things to make' pile for quite some time. I love how you used it as a border! Very pretty!
Love this idea and you could always use the picture page for a framed photo gift for the grandparents!
Krista, What a great idea to use this technique for scrap booking. I love how you used it as a border. It adds so much texture and a crisp fall feeling. Thanks for sharing.
PS - cute baby!
