Hello Again, It's Stitching Time

I know it's been a while since I've posted....I had strep throat....BLECH!! But with a nice dose of antibiotics, I'm back!! This week's challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments is called "All Stitched Up"...that means you need to use either sewing, stitching or faux stitching in your project.

I really like being a part of this design team. It's forcing me to learn new techniques and use new products and ideas. So for this one, I decided to bite the bullet and get a sewing machine. I know, you're thinking I had to spend a fortune, but I bought the $13 hand-held one from Walmart. I'm just testing out the sewing thing to see if it's worth it to splurge for a real, big girl one....we'll see. Honestly, it's just one more thing that will end up caking up dust, I'm sure.

Okay....here it is....my card with real, actual, battery powered, needle and thread action, stitched up card.

I know, I know....I didn't get carried away with this, I just wanted it to make a simple statement....like my blog says...."simple". :)

Here is a close up shot of the stitching....looks like I need to brush up on my sewing skills. LOL!!!

This card is for my friend Christie. She has 2 boys and just had her first baby girl. I've only seen a picture of her, but I can't wait to see her in person. Hopefully I'll be able to hand deliver this real soon. Gotta make sure I'm all finished with my antibiotics first. I don't want to spread any germs.

Ingredients:
Colors: Pretty in Pink, Soft Suede, Whisper White, Pink Pirouette
Stamps: Baby Bundle
Accessories: DSP Subtles Pack, Tasteful Trim Die Cut, White Satin Ribbon, Vintage Trinkets, Sewing machine

Happy Stamping,
Krista

Sew cute, Krista! I have a bitty sewing machine, too but have no idea how to use it. It scares me a bit! Haha! I think your card came out great! Love the subtle stitched accent. It is such a great touch to your sweet baby card. Glad you are feeling better! Hugs! :)

Very cute card! I think the stitching is darling. It goes so well with the baby images. Your friend will love it. It would look so cute in a frame in her baby's room. I'm glad you're feeling better.

This is so sweet! And how awesome that you went all out for this challenge! Your sewing looks better than mine (there's a good reason someone invented faux stitching!) A beautiful baby card!
BTW-glad you're feeling better!

I have my OLD sewing machine, but I hate sewing! Out of all the crafts I've done (and i've done a LOT), it's my least favorite thing to do. I leave that to my sister who is a beautiful sewer/quilter. Being on the design team, I'm feeling the pressure to try it out...I like the look...shoot. We'll see, maybe I'll try it... Beautiful job on this one, especially for your first time!

I totally LOVE your REAL stitched card! Not only is it an adorable card but the stitching is just awesome, I am such a slacker for wussing out on my sewing machine. :-)
