Happy Day With Sparkles

This week over at Hand Stamped Sentiments we are challenging you to be inspired by a sketch.
If someone asked me today what my favorite product from Stampin' Up! was I would have to say the glitter paper!!  Adding sparkle without the mess....GENIUS!!  I know, the Big Shot and Embossing Folders are a very close second, but adding some pizzaz without the hassle is awesome!
Here is my card....

I used the "Happy Day" and "Papillon Potpourri" stamp sets, Pool Party and Whisper White with a splash of Island Indigo for the ink and in the DSP.  Of course the glitter paper, butterfly punch, some rhinestones and a vintage faceted button.  I embossed the background with the polka dot embossing folder, too.

Here is the sketch....click on over and join us for this FAB challenge!!

Masculine Birthday Card?!

I like to come up with masculine cards every chance I get....and the colors this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments had "manly" written all over it!  YAY...here we go....what do you think?

My hubby always gives me the "nice" or "sure" remark, but I like it!!  Easy, clean lines and very "dude-ish".  I used the Six Sided Sampler and Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp sets.  Added a chevron embossing to the background, a couple banners with the colors from the challenge (I did substitute Crushed Curry for Summer Starfruit) and added a simple button, some twine with a Birthday greeting banner.

Join us at Hand Stamped Sentiments and be inspired!!

Favorite Things Party Banner

Have you ever heard of it?  Well, I never did until my cousin Lindsay was posting all of these cute things on Pinterest.  I had to check it out and I asked her what it was all about. Here's how it works:
Invite your friends over for a get together.
Have them bring 3 of the same item (brand new)...something that is their favorite thing.  A lipgloss, kitchen utensil, home item, accessory...anything.
Set a dollar limit for this item. I chose to ask everyone to spend no more than $10 per item.  REMEMBER...they are each bringing THREE of the SAME item.
Once they arrive they will write their name on 3 slips of paper and drop them in the jar.
When everyone is here and all names are collected, everyone will draw 3 names (not their own of course!)
Each person will stand up, describe their favorite thing, and then give their favorite thing to those people they drew from the jar.
Sounds like fun, right?! I HAD to make a banner for this fun girls night.  It's all about the details!!!

My party is this Friday. I will let you know how it goes.  I'm sure it will be lots of fun since it's with some pretty cool ladies!!

Every time I see this banner I burst into song....."These are a few of my Favorite Things!!"  You know, Sound of Music?!?!  It's a classic!!

Here are some close up shots.  I'm not fond of the coloring in these photos....sorry about that!!

Get Well Soon

I actually had some quiet time last night.  2 sick kids asleep and the other kid with my hubby at a beach camping trip.  So, I decided to find some inspiration and join a couple challenges.
I was inspired by a sketch and a color combo.
Here is what I came up with...

I used the sets called Bright Blossoms and Delightful Dozens.  I love this color combo!!  It's so soft and pretty, I thought a "get well" card was fitting.  I also really love the sketch. It's so pleasing to the eye!  I also got to use those new cool In Color buttons.

Check out Freshly Made Sketches and see all the beautiful creations from this sketch!!

Then, hop on over to Fab Friday and see all the gorgeous projects using these awesome colors!!

I Freakin' Love You

I've been known from time to time to squeeze my kids' faces and say "I Freakin' Love You"...they are just so cute and squishy sometimes.
This week at Hand Stamped Sentiments we are using a photo for inspiration.  Now, after Convention this year I feel like my brain is on project overload....and all I could come up with was SIMPLE...I know....AGAIN.
But here it is folks....straight lines and super cute, right?!  :)

I used the Gorgeous Grunge and Yippee-Skippee sets for this card.
The colors are Summer Starfruit, Gumball Green and Raspberry Ripple...all In Colors.
