HSS #103 Challenge

This week's challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments is Anything But A Card- Gift Items.

I saw one of these cuties made at the Leadership Convention a couple weeks ago and had to make one of my own. It is a cute container made with a strip of DSP attached to a button/brad container.  Then I added my ribbon and little tag and filled it with candy.

Here is a close up of the bottom so you can see the container.  I used a 3 1/2" x 9" strip of Twitterpated DSP and wrapped it around and adhered it with Sticky Strip.  So simple.  We made one of these at my last class.

Click here to see another fun project we made using the new Hearts Collection Framelits.

Ingredients:
Ink: Riding Hood Red, Basic Gray
Stamps: I Heart Hearts, Fabulous Phrases
Accessories:  Twitterpated DSP and mini buttons, Baja Breeze Seam Binding, White Bakers Twine, SU! Button Container

Heart Framelit Rosette

I have to admit.  I love Valentine's Day, it's also my hubby's Birthday.  You can make the cutest things using Stampin' Up products.  This year is no exception!!  I hosted a class at my house the other night and this is the "decor item" that we made.  I wish I had the Rosette Die, but it was nice for everyone to get a chance to use the Simply Scored Scoring Tool.  But they also got to use the Hearts Collection Framelits.  :)

I used 3 - 12"x4" strips of Cherry Cobbler and scored them every 1/2" for the Rosette.  Then I used the Hearts Framelits to make the hearts.  After I hot glued the rosette on to the Circle punch (behind the hearts) I hot glued the Cherry Cobbler bakers twine to hang the hearts on the bottom.  The hot glue holds it in position quite well.

Here are close up photos of the hanging hearts and the rosette.

Ingredients:
Colors: Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, Basic Black and Silver Glimmer Paper
Stamp Set: Loving Thoughts
Accessories:  Silver Glimmer Paper, Hearts Collection Framelits, Big Shot, Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine, Black Satin Ribbon, Decorative Label Punch, Full Heart punch, Heart to Heart Punch, Simply Scored Scoring Tool, glue gun

HSS Challenge #102

It's time to SALE-A-BRATE....For every $50 you spend, starting today you'll earn FREE products!!

This week's challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments is to be inspired by your dreams of warm sand and sun.  The sound of the rolling waves.....THE BEACH!

Ahhh the beach....I say AAAAHHHHHH the BEACH!!  I only have 6 months until I need to get into a bikini.  We are headed out to Hawaii with my husbands family.  I'd better get off my tushy and workout AND stop eating so much.  After San Antonio I think I gained like 6 pounds.  Let's just say I ate well!  :)

When I was thinking of the beach, the sunset came into my mind.  I love the sunsets in Hawaii....the blues, purples, oranges, yellows, corals....

So, my card is like a tropical sunset, bright blue and rich coral softened by the sand.

Ingredients:
Colors:  Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Poppy Parade
Stamp Sets:  Fresh Vintage and Outlined Occasions (both Saleabration...you can earn these FREE)
Accessories:  Distressing tool, Color Spritzer, Hemp Twine, Everyday Enchantment DSP (SAB), Tea Stain from the Distressing Essentials Kit

Technique: Rock and Roll, Stamping off, distressing

Leadership Wrap Up 2012

San Antonio, Texas is a gorgeous place!!  Here I am at the Alamo (left) and Erin and I at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center (Right).  Do you see the river running under the catwalk?  It runs through the downtown area. It takes you to restaurants and shopping, hotels and office buildings.  It was so quaint and so peaceful in the middle of the hustle and bustle of a city.

Managers Reception was lots of fun!  We had yummy appetizers and were treated to a fabulous show with Chinese Acrobats.  It was fun to mingle with top demonstrators!  :)

Here we are being silly after getting our FREE stuff!!  Left: Me and Rachel Stelzer (my upline) Right:  Erin Gonzales...my roommate!

Here is a photo with me and some of the present and former members of the Hand Stamped Sentiments Design Team.  It was so fun to meet them all IN PERSON.  Beautiful group of ladies, I might say.  :)

Yes, my friends....I WON the card making contest.  I'm still in shock.  I had to go around all day and justify why I won.  I think because it's cute, simple, but most of all, duplicate-able!!

Here is a shot of me picking up my prize.  I got a pack of designer paper, pleated ribbon and buttons.

My friend Erica from Pink Buckaroo Designs WON, too!!  Her page was SO stinkin' cute, there was no way she wouldn't win.  She is such a talented stamper.  She'll be winning the Artisan Award sometime soon, for sure!!  Check out her page....it's almost as cute as she is!!  :)

And, last, but not least, here are me and my girlfriends doing what we do best....BEING SILLY!  We had such a blast!!  I can't wait for the next big Stampin' Up! event so I can see these girls again!!

Let's go out and stamp......but this time I'm gonna do it "MY WAY".  :)  (That was the theme of this year's Leadership)

DON'T FORGET TO FOLLOW ME ON FACEBOOK, TOO!!!  FIND ME AT "KRISTA'S STAMPER ROOM" AND "LIKE" MY PAGE.  :)

Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge #101

This week's challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments is Shaker Technique.....

Every year when the twins were really small we went to little Valentine's Day parties with the local twins club.  And every year I'd make some really cute little goodie box or bag filled with treats.  And every year I sit back and watch the tiny little hands tear right into my hand made creation....diving in for the candy.  So, here's my thought....let's make it easy and sweet with a nice little shaker card with candy.  I won't feel AS bad when they tear into this simple little card.  :)

On another note.....my 13 month old cutie pie learned how to walk yesterday!!  Time flies when you're having fun.  He was so proud.  He'd stop, laugh, clap and even dance.  I love this tiny little man!!

We took our first trip to Knott's last week.  The twins loved going on the big roller coasters.  Some of the kiddie rides they have to be under a certain height....so that meant they rode without me.  They thought that was pretty cool, too.  Here they are on a Camp Snoopy ride.

I'm off to the Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference today!!  I can't wait to kick up my boots in good ol' San Antonio, TX.

Happy Stamping,
Krista

HSS Challenge #100

This weeks challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments is Pleats or Ruffles....let's get FRILLY!!!

I have been making invitations for my cousin Amy's Bridal Shower that is in February.  It just so happened that I wanted to add a ruffle with the lace on the invite. Her theme for the wedding is loosely based on the Beauty and The Beast story so I wanted the flower to look like the single rose from the story.  I embossed the flower with clear embossing powder to make it pop.  Her wedding colors are green and red. Here is the invite:

Ingredients:
Colors- Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke, Very Vanilla
Stamps- Fifth Avenue Flower, Wedding Sweet
Accessories- Tea Stain from Distressing Essentials Kit, First Edition DSP, Decorative Label and Modern Label Punches, Crochet Trim Lace ribbon, Clear Embossing Powder

Happy Stamping,

Scrapbook Club 2011 in Review

It's a new year and a time to start a new family scrapbook.  Last year I focused on making baby Travis's book.  Here is a collage of our year in review.

Do you like what you see?  Wanna make a year scrapbook?  I'm starting up my new club this February and I hope you will join me!!  Here are the details:

-You will be making a 2 page layout that is loosely themed for that particular month.
-The fee for each layout is as follows:
-$10 if you attend the class
-$15 for a kit
-If you can't attend a class, you have the option to order a kit, but you must pay the kit price.  I send out reminders in advance....that will give you the opportunity to cancel or order the kit.
-If you sign up for the class or kit and need to cancel, you must do so at least 5 days PRIOR to the meeting for that month....I prepare the supplies in advance and need adequate time to know that I won't need to cut those supplies.  :) happy
-If you sign up, I am asking for at least a 4 month commitment.

Meeting Times/Days...2 Clubs will possibly be forming, depending on the interest
-The SECOND FRIDAY of each month at 10am.  The first class will be on February 10th and we'll do Jan. and Feb. pages
-The SECOND WEDNESDAY of each month at 6:30pm, with the exception of March, June and November that will fall on the FIRST WEDS.  The first class will be on February 8th
***Once our clubs have been established we might see it fit to change the date for specific classes due to unforseen events***

This year the scrapbook club won't be as heavily "theme-y" like last year, but it will include color combinations and some elements that tie in to particular major events/holidays that occur that month, if any.

Contact me today if you'd like to sign up or if you'd like the kits.

Happy SCRAPping!!

Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge #235

I wanted to do something to get motivated back into "regular" stamping.  Not gifts, not ornaments, not Christmas....so I found this sketch challenge at Stamping 411 that I thought would be fun and different.

Here is my version of this sketch....

I embossed the flower image from the new Bordering on Romance Stamp Set with black powder and then colored it in with the blender pens and Riding Hood Red ink.  Here is a close up shot of the stamped image...

Ingredients:
Colors: Pear Pizzaz, Riding Hood Red, Blushing Bride, Whisper White
Stamps: Bordering on Romance
Accessories:  Twitterpated Fabric, Label punch, Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Blender Pen

Happy Stamping,
